My little "Tank!"

Preston went to the Dr. today b/c he has been sick the past few days. Of course they weighed him and he tipped the scales at 22 lbs! At his 6 month checkup, he was 18.5 lbs which means he has gained 3.5 lbs in 2 months! He must of had another growth spurt! Have I mentioned that his feet are sooo big, fat and wide! Oh yes...he can wear a size 4!!! And he FINALLY and OFFICIALLY has 4 teeth and he looks OH SO CUTE when he smiles! As I mentioned, Preston has had a virus the past few days and everything just comes right out of him until that is, Timmy saved the day! Since we were told to not feed him any formula and to just give him clear liquids, Timmy thought long and hard about how his Mom used to take care of him when he was a boy back in Vietnam. He quickly whipped up some rice with lots of water, cooking it really really soft and then added alittle bit of sugar in the water. Then he put it in the blender with some ice and made a "rice" smoothy. Not only does Preston LOVE it but he has already started to feel better and the Dr. said that what Timmy did was PERFECT! I'm glad he did that b/c I was worried little man would get dehydrated b/c he wouldn't drink anything out of his bottle and he doesn't like sippy cups...all he does is chew on them. And you can forget about Pedialyte! He just spits it out. We have also been giving him smartwater! That water is genius! So major Kudos to Dad of the year for taking care of my baby while I was at work! I love them so!

RIP MJ!

I am still in shock over the death of Michael Jackson! I grew up listening and LOVING his music! There will never be another "King of Pop!!" I am deeply saddened by this! In memory of him, I have posted a video of my favorite song of his!

Peach tree rock

My sister Sallie took the kids to peach tree rock yesterday for a mini hike. I’ve never been out there but hear it’s really nice. The kids had a good time with the exception of Nicholas apparently complaining about how hot it was and how he was tired. That’s normal for him though.  She tried to get some really good pictures of them but there were a ton of kids there so she just took some snap shots of them. Here are just a few.

Happy Father’s Day!

The kids are so incredibly lucky to have Timmy as a Dad!  It’s amazing the love that radiates from their faces everytime they look at him. And Ariel is definately a “Daddy’s girl!”  Nicholas loves it when Timmy takes the time to wrestle with him and throw the football. And well Preston just adores him!

 

 

 

Timmy is so kind, patient and loving to the kids. He very rarely raises his voice at them. Everything that concerns them is done with love!  When he talks about them, his face lights up!  They are his joy!  I seriously don’t know if there is a better father out there but I guess i’m just alittle biased!

Also to the two special men in my life! Dad and Charles, my step-dad!  Thank you so much for putting up with me over the years!  I know it hasn’t been easy!  I love you both so very much!

Narcissism at such a young age?

I forgot to mention that everytime I put Preston in front of a mirror, he stares at himself and then leans in and kisses the mirror!  It’s so funny! 

 

Happy 8 Month’s Preston!!!

It’s hard to believe that Preston is 8 month’s old already. Seems like yesterday he was born!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He has grown SOOOO much!  Especially over this past month!

 

 

He is crawling and starting to cruise around things so he’s well on his way to keeping me on my toes! Who am I kidding! He has had me on my toes for quite some time now! He is ALL BOY! Into everything and fearless while doing it! He has even had his fair share of bumps and bruises but always goes back to doing the same thing that got him into trouble the 1st time which shows me he is a typical male! :) And he is already learning the word “NO!” But do you think he actually listens! Yeah right!!!

He has his two bottom teeth that came in at the same time and his two top teeth are coming in as we speak. So he’s been very fussy lately! And he is such a good eater! He has liked everything that we have fed him so far but especially loves rice! Timmy makes the best steamed rice and it’s always really soft and Preston just eats it up!

And how can I forget to mention that he LOVES Beyonce!  Yes I said it!  BEYONCE!!!!  Everytime we need to put him down to sleep or just calm him down in general, we put her cd in and he calms down almost immediately!  That’s his lady!!!!

The fact that I only have 4 more months until he turns one just blows my mind! I can’t wait to see what this next month has in store for us! Who knows, maybe by 9 months , he will be walking and I will have officially lost my mind!

Beach pics!

Well we are back from the beach and I couldn’t be happier!  Don’t get me wrong, I love the beach and the fact that I was able to get away for a few days and relax but after awhile I start to miss my home and my bed!  The kids had a blast though and we were able to get some cute shots of all of them. Preston wasn’t too sure about the beach…he was amazed by the sand but did not like the water, however he did LOVE the pool. It was hard to get any close-ups of Nicholas because he was on the constant move. Ariel was alittle easier but where Nick was, so was she. And I forgot to mention that Preston would not look at the camera…he was too mesmerized by his surroundings to even notice us.    I wish I could say that we did something really interesting but our goal was to go down to the beach and RELAX!  And that’s exactly what we did. Beach, pool and relax. It was just what I needed seeing that i’ve been working so much lately!  I have posted ALOT of pictures but there were so many that I liked, that I couldn’t just pick a few.

Beach bound

And we're off to the beach! My boss is pregnant and due any day now so I took a friday & monday off so we could squeeze in a "mini" vacation before she goes on maternity leave b/c after that i'm on lockdown. I can't wait to see Preston's reaction to the beach for his 1st time! And the kids are soooo excited to have a baby brother that they can play with! Stay tuned for lots of pictures when we get back!!!

is officially crawling! For the longest he was doing that military crawl and scooting across the room but last night I noticed that not only is he FAST but he is crawling like a pro! How cute! He needs to slow down some! I'm still scared that if I blink, he will be 18 and I will have missed it all!

President Coggins

For those of you that don't know, President Coggins passed away last night while visiting family in Utah. He was my Branch President back in my YSA days and had the biggest impact on my life! I have never led a perfect life and he was the one person that I always felt like I could confide in. He never once judged me but always held my hand along the way and knew the intentions of my heart! He never once discouraged me but rather encouraged me to keep going..he never gave up on me! I last saw him at the Gladys Knight concert and gave him the biggest hug. If I would have known that would have been the last I would see of him, I would have squeezed him tighter and held on just alittle bit longer! He had been sick for a few years so I know that he is finally at peace but he will be missed by so many! He meant the world to me and I hope he knew that! While I am saddened today, I smile just knowing where he is and the work he is doing! President Coggins, I love you so very much and will miss you!!!

“Most Caring!”

Nicholas received a certificate from his teacher as the “Most Caring” in his class!  While it may not be the honor roll, I still think it’s an honor!  Nicholas is a very caring child and would do anything for anyone! It made me smile when I came home and he showed me his certificate. He was so proud and he should be! I’m glad to know that other’s see what type of kid he is!

Ariel has an awards ceremony tomorrow morning and she will get the “ALL-YEAR HONOR ROLL” Certificate. I am so proud of her!  She takes her school work SO seriously and actually enjoys it as well!  If only I enjoyed school as much as she does!  :)

A day with Grandma Beth & Grandpa Sid!

We finally had the chance to go visit my BF Lydia’s parents this weekend in Elberton, GA. Lydia passed away several years ago and I promised myself that I would remain close with her parents!  Her death was to date the hardest thing I had to deal with but I am so thankful for Beth and Sid for welcoming me into the family! I love them so much and always feel Lydia’s presence when we are all together!  This visit was long overdue!

Beth was able to make it down to my baby shower but because there were so many people, I didn’t get to visit with her much. This was the 1st time that she was able to see Preston and meet Timmy. We had the best time just catching up and it made my weekend! It was something that I needed!

Timmy had the brilliant idea to take one of the TV’s that are normally on our headrest that the kids watch and put it on Preston’s so he could watch something on the way down there. He watched Clifford the big red dog!  I kept checking to see if he was really watching. Sometimes he was and other times he was just looking out the window chewing on one of his many teething rings.  He was so good on the entire trip!
