Just a few reasons....

I had a little visitor at work today...Timmy had some things he had to do and we couldn't find anyone to watch P, so luckily my work allows us to bring our kids when needed!  I only bring him if necessary and here are just a few reasons why....

He thinks he's helping BUT he's NOT!

Beach Fun Photo Challenge

Over at  I ♥ Faces, they are having a Beach Fun Photo Challenge this week. Seeing as I have taken a million pictures of my kids lately at the beach, I decided to enter one. There were so many so it was really hard to choose!

So I decided to do this as a separate post but I took my new snazzy little phone around and took all kinds of pictures with all the camera apps that I have on it and love some of the ones I got.

Beach time…Preston still isn’t a big fan but we’re working on it! He’d much rather just play in the sand right now!

There were books just lying around at our place and he randomly picked this one up and walked around for a good 30 mins like this as if he could actually read it!  Good thing he can’t!

Lastly, I woke up in the middle of the night to find the kids sleeping like this. Pillows stuffed in between them!  The next morning when I asked Ariel why they did that, she said…”Nicholas is gross…I don’t want him touching me!”  Funny thing is that I remember thinking the EXACT same thing about my younger brother when I was little!

There were even bunk beds that they could have slept in but because the TV was in the living room, they decided to sleep on the couch together!

Our Mini Vacation to the Beach

Last week, I was able to take a few days off from work to go to the beach. We always go to Isle of Palms in Charleston, SC. We love that place!  It’s so family oriented and when you have kids, I couldn’t ask for anything more!

I wish I could say that we visited lots of really cute shops but with 3 kids, it’s obvious that all they wanted to do was swim, swim AND swim!!!  I was fine with that…I needed some rest and was thankful to just relax and enjoy watching them!

I swear we picked the PERFECT weekend to go to the beach!  This has been a record breaking summer and even though i’ve lived here forever, I never get used to this heat and humidity! I was a bit concerned that it would be so hot that I wouldn’t enjoy myself but to my surprise it never reached above 90 and there was always a nice breeze! It couldn’t get any better really!

Preston’s favorite was walking the Pier…like I said, it was so windy so he would just run up and down, back and forth. We did see a Dolphin but he was off in the distance so I couldn’t get a good shot of him. Bummer because I love Dolphins and I would have loved for Preston to see him up close!

Preston is so funny…when he’s really into something, he gets this serious look on his face. Even if he’s loving it, he doesn’t crack a smile! It’s so weird though because he is always laughing really loud but not here. Curiosity I guess!

Back at the pool, the kids were having a blast as usual! Preston had some fun too! He loved the kiddie pool! He would get in the big pool with his floaties but always went back to the small pool. It was just his size!  We did make some progress with him swimming too…he now knows how to kick when told and he does like a champ! I hope he is swimming on his own by next summer!

 

We only got to walk the beach one night because even though the weather was perfect during the day, it would rain at night! So on our last night there we went for our night walk. Let me just say that my hair SUCKS at the beach!  It gets so frizzy and wavy! And with the beach water so hard, it doesn’t help even when showering!  Still sucks! It wasn’t until I was home and let some conditioner soak my hair for awhile that it started feeling better!  I’m just not blessed with beautiful beach hair…good thing I don’t live there!

I was sad to leave…the thought of coming back to reality and work just did not sit well with me but that’s life!  I’m so thankful though for the family time that we had and no one even fought!  Talk about SUCCESS! :)

Farewell to my 20's

I said farewell to my 20's last weekend and wasn't sad at all! It was a little bittersweet to think that an entire decade had passed right in front of me but I can honestly say that I lived my 20's! I had some of the best and worst times in life this past decade and all have made me the person that I am today! I welcome my 30's with open arms and can't wait to see what the next 10 years have in store for me! I am definitely going to make some life changes!

Timmy decided to throw me a "surprise" party at my dads house. He did a great job! I'm not much of a party person but I was happy to be able to celebrate such a big year for me with my closest family and friends!

Since I obviously didn't take pictures,I don't have many but trust that we had a great time!

I hear the 30's are the best years so lets see how mine are!

Lordy, Lordy…LOOK WHO’S 40!!!!

My sexy man Timmy turned 40 on Wednesday and we celebrated with a “Surprise” party saturday. Do I think he was completely surprised???? Heck no but we had a great time!

He cracked me up because every time someone went to go take a picture of him, he would hold out his “Behold the ageless wonder” necklace that Ariel picked out for him to wear.

We had his party at his parent’s chinese restaurant and his dad did a bang up job of cooking and making a buffet! Lots of family came…in fact that’s pretty much all that was even invited. It was short notice as this was something I decided to do very last minute! Procrastinator ought to be my middle name! Even with just family, we had plenty of people. My side of the family is huge and Timmy’s side isn’t too shabby either! There was a total of 60 people there including kids which is ALOT!!!

Just a few of some people there…Me and Timmy of course! His Best friend Eddie in the yellow shirt and then my best friend Angela with me. My Dad being silly and my step-mom. The only picture of Ariel and then Preston with his cousin Gabri. There were sooo many more people and zero pictures. Bummer!

One thing that wasn’t a bummer was the TWO cakes! Yes TWO!

I called up a family friend who came to the rescue! I told her how many people were coming and so we decided on two cakes. Red Velvet since that’s Timmy’s favorite and then chocolate so that people had a choice. Since it was such short notice, she did her easiest cake which was the layers of cake with whip cream in between. Talk about GOOD! We almost didn’t have enough for everyone because people were coming back for seconds! I had to play cake patrol and make sure everyone had at least one piece before others had another .

I’m so glad I decided to have a party for him because not only is he special enough but it made him feel good that so many came out to celebrate with him! And seriously what is better than tons of good food and family?!
