There are so many things that make me laugh but of course they are all stuck in the back of my head right when I am going to do this post! I did however, remember a forward email that I received on friday that made me laugh so hard that my side hurt and I kept reading it over and over again!  SO…I decided to post it. Since it’s a forward, i’m sure some of you have read it before but to me, it never gets old!

Three Ladies in a Sauna

THREE WOMEN, TWO YOUNGER, AND ONE SENIOR CITIZEN, WERE SITTING NAKED IN A SAUNA. SUDDENLY THERE WAS A BEEPING SOUND. THE YOUNG WOMAN PRESSED HER FOREARM AND
THE BEEP STOPPED. THE OTHERS LOOKED AT HER QUESTIONINGLY. 'THAT WAS MY PAGER,' SHE SAID. I HAVE A MICROCHIP UNDER THE SKIN OF MY ARM.

A FEW MINUTES LATER, A PHONE RANG. THE SECOND YOUNG WOMAN LIFTED HER PALM TO HER EAR. WHEN SHE FINISHED, SHE EXPLAINED, 'THAT WAS MY MOBILE PHONE. I HAVE A MICROCHIP IN MY HAND.'

THE OLDER WOMAN FELT VERY LOW -TECH. NOT TO BE OUT DONE, SHE DECIDED SHE HAD TO DO SOMETHING JUST AS IMPRESSIVE. SHE STEPPED OUT OF THE SAUNA AND WENT TO
THE BATH ROOM. SHE RETURNED WITH A PIECE OF TOILET PAPER HANGING FROM HER REAR END.

THE OTHERS RAISED THEIR EYEBROWS AND STARED AT HER.
THE OLDER WOMAN FINALLY SAID.........WELL, WILL YOU LOOK AT THAT....I'M GETTING A FAX!!

Now, if you didn’t laugh, I just don’t know what to tell ya! I’m still laughing! LOL!!!!

I will survive…

Or shall I say the kids! You see, Timmy started school today!  He will be going Mon-thurs. 4-9:30. This leaves me taking care of the kids. That’s not the issue though…it’s the cooking part that’s the “issue!”  I don’t cook! Not sure why but I never watched my parent’s when I was little so I seriously suck in the kitchen!  It’s really sad! How I survived on my own for so long before I met Timmy is beyond me! He’s an amazing cook and enjoys it so I definately met the right man but now I actually am in charge of FEEDING THE KIDS!!!  Scary scary thought! I need my friends to send me all kinds of good, EASY recipes for me ok!!!!  Ya know beginner’s type of stuff!  When I picked the kids up this afternoon, and brought them home, Ariel and I had started talking about cooking and she said the cutest thing. “Jamie, you and I can learn how to cook together!” AND she seriously read cook books all night before bed! She kept pointing out all the recipes with chocolate in them though! Sweetie, I don’t think we can eat stuff like that for dinner!  After all, it’s not going to help me lose weight that way!!!  I love her enthusiasm though! :)  I might even “try” to post pictures of meals that I make. I cringe at that thought but this is definately going to be a learning experience for all of us!!!  :)

Where has the time gone???

 

Preston my boy, you are 10 months old today and so full of life! There is never a dull moment when you are around! You are so smart and learning so fast! And you are constantly leaving a mess behind you! You are ALL boy and then some and I love it!!! This past month you have started walking just as I anticipated you would! I am so proud of you for that! You still haven’t mastered standing up from the sitting position on your own completely so if you want to get to something, you still crawl because you know you will get there faster! But when you do walk, you run and this sometimes leads to you falling but you always get right back up and keep going! This shows me how determined you are and how you never give up!

You hate baby food now and would rather eat what we are eating. Daddy is good about giving you things that he knows you can eat and you just love it!!! I also must mention that you are a professional straw drinker! You can thank Grand-dad for that! Your favorite “baby” food though is the Gerber Graduates Cheese puffs! I swear you could eat those all day long! And you look soooo cute feeding yourself!

You are still saying “Dada” on a regular but “Mama” only here and there…Seriously son, what is the hold up???  And you say “Nana” a lot which makes me think you are trying to say Banana because you seriously love them! Daddy feeds you those a lot too! Maybe it’s just my imagination though!  :) Whatever it is that you are trying to say, you sure do say a lot of it! I have a feeling you are going to be a talker just like Nicholas! Watch out world!!!

You also LOVE taking a bath!!! You can be screaming your head off but as soon as we start the bath water and get you ready to go, you immediately calm down! You could probably stay in the bath for hours if we could let you! Splashing around is your favorite! ***For anyone offended by baby tush, just don’t look***

I still can’t believe that we only have 2 more months until you are one! I thought I told you to slow down!!!  I love you my sweet baby boy!  More and more each day!!!

I’ve been thinking….

Long and hard about what I want to do for Preston’s 1st birthday party!  After all, I do only have 2 months to really get things planned out! As far as his cake goes, I have had the hardest time deciding on a theme, design, etc. I don’t want something too baby but still something not too big boy either. He doesn’t really watch TV so there isn’t much that he likes. He does watch Clifford the big red dog whenever we are in the car and he has always seemed to enjoy it!  I know I did when I was a kid!  He was always my fav! Him and Garfield! Anyways…I think I might go with that! I had also thought about Dr. Seuss but initially decided on something that he is alittle familiar with. I found a picture of a cake that I like and just want to expand on it.  Here is where I want everyone’s opinion. Should I do a 3 tiered cake like this and let the top be his cake OR should I do a bigger sheet cake like this and then let him have his cake seperate? I’m leaning more towards the latter BUT seeing as this is my 1st birthday celebration for my 1st baby then i’m a little OCD about it all. I just want everything to be perfect! So please…don’t be afraid to tell me what you guys think!Also on a funny note…I asked Nicholas today what he thought we should do for Preston’s 1st birthday cake ( because I knew he would make it funny! ) And he said…”Well…maybe do a cake with a baby coming out of….OH NO I CAN’T SAY THAT!!!!” And he ran out the room! I laughed so hard I could barely stand up!  That child trips me out! And where he comes up with some of the things that come out of his mouth are just beyond me! I sure do love him though!

Back to School

So I wasn’t able to get any pictures of the kids this morning on their 1st day of school b/c they were with their Mom so I took a picture of Ariel’s oh so chic book bag!!!

We bought it from Pottery Barn Kids and every time I look at it, I wish I would of had such an awesome, cool book bag when I was a kid!  She has been counting down the days to go back and so have we just so she can carry it or shall I say “roll” it around. It’s one of those rolling book bags. What happened to just carrying the darn thing?! When she and I were shopping for ones, I told her that we might not be able to find one and she said she HAD to have one or else the books would break her back. Bless her, I just looked at her and said…”Um…sweetie…i’m still alive! When I was your age, we didn’t have a choice but to carry it on our back!”  She looked at me like I had LOST my mind!

Did I mention that we are thrilled the kids are back in school?!  Don’t get me wrong we love them of course but Nicholas literally played Wii all summer long and it drove me nuts knowing that Timmy was allowing it and I was at work so I couldn’t do anything about it. Our back to school rule is NO Wii at all during the week!  No exceptions either! Ariel is in 4th grade and Nicholas is in 3rd. When I called them this afternoon to see how their first day went, Nicholas was so proud to say…”And I didn’t even pull color!” Goodness son I hope not seeing that it is the 1st day of school! If he had well then I knew it would be a LONG year! Fingers crossed he can control that mouth of his!  :)

My little walker!!!

He’s still wobbly at times, and gets so excited that he falls but he is doing so great seeing that he will be 10 months on friday! He is definately trying to keep up with his big brother and sister!

Amazing Photographer!!!

I just happened to run across this photographers website the other day from another blog and was FLOORED by this guys talent! I’m not even a photographer but I was so inspired artistically with his work! I have friends that are photographers so I know they will enjoy these pictures. I picked out just a few of my favorites which was definately hard to do!

My must haves…

Whenever I find something that I like, I stick to it! Well with the exception of makeup…I usually end up having the need to try something else just out of curiosity but I always go back to what I was using originally.

Here are just a few of things that I can’t live with out!

One: Urban Decay’s Primer potion! 

Now I have already posted about this on my makeup blog BUT it’s a definate must have of mine! When I say that this stuff makes my eye shadow stay all day without even the smallest crease, I MEAN IT! For people with oily eyelids, I definately recommend this!

Two: Smart Water by Glaceau

It’s safe to say that I drink atleast one to two bottles of this stuff a day! I seriously can’t live without it! When I was pregnant, it worked wonders for me and even now with all the electrolytes in it, it helps when i’m sick. The kids even prefer it over Pedialyte…Do you blame them though?  That stuff is nasty!!! Whoever thought of it is a genius!!!

Three: Sunglasses!!!

The bigger the better too! Before I became a mommy (b/c I can only window shop now!), I would collect sunglasses…ranging from designers to ones for $5!!! I have about 20 pairs…No lie! My favorites are my Prada’s but they are MIA at the moment which is really starting to bug me!  I have no idea where they are! One day they will turn up i’m sure. BUT, I can’t live without my sunglasses!

Four: Flip Flops

Ok, soooo…if I could wear flip flops year round I would! I detest wearing shoes…well I take that back…I love pretty heels and what not but I think i’m going to have to learn how to walk in them again b/c since before I had Preston, I have stopped wearing them. Once again, WHAT has motherhood done to me?!!! When i’m working at MAC, our counter is right next to the shoe department and I just stare over there and wish for all the pretty shoes in the world but then I realize that I don’t even have any where to wear them right now!  oh well! So yeah…I love flip flops!

Timmy’s Dad

Whenever we go up to Timmy’s parents restaurant, his dad always grabs Preston as soon as we walk through that door!  He just loves him! Preston seems to love him just as much though b/c yesterday while he was trying to cook, Preston wouldn’t stop crying for him so he came and picked him up, put him on his hip and continued to cook.  It was just too sweet to not take a few pictures!

Excuse the poor quality of the pictures. I left my good camera at home so had to resort to my phone’s camera.
